Our client, a leading multifamily developer and builder in Southern California, operates a prefabricated offsite construction plant and an in-house construction company. This integrated approach allows for efficient and cost-effective project completion, leveraging a stable labor pool and a compact library of blueprints.


Position Summary:


The Senior Project Manager will oversee and coordinate all phases of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role involves directing information between various departments and managing multiple projects simultaneously.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Report to the Head of Construction and coordinate with the offsite manufacturing team.
  • Oversee and coordinate all phases of small to mid-sized construction projects.
  • Create project objectives, work scope, execution, and construction management plans.
  • Develop project reports to keep relevant parties informed on time and cost status.
  • Coordinate planning, design, estimating, and monitor construction to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with design and construction professionals for successful project integration.
  • Manage master project schedule, track decisions, assist in material procurement, and manage contracts.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Oversee field inspections, obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide milestone sign-offs.
  • Manage project closeout process and punch list.
  • Coordinate with clients, city officials, and regulatory agencies for project reviews and approvals.
  • Prepare and manage procurement documents and coordinate purchasing activities.
  • Oversee project team members, consultants, and contractors.
  • Establish and monitor a quality management plan.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, monitor costs, authorize expenditures.
  • Recommend and process payments to architects, contractors, and vendors.
  • Serve as an advisor and resource to project staff, assigning tasks and reviewing work.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in apartment construction and development.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and make effective decisions.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard project management software.
  • Familiarity with City of Los Angeles building codes and safety standards.
  • Attention to detail and capability of delivering high-quality projects.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong documentation and contract experience.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using various construction software.
  • Comfortable overseeing Master Service Agreements and Subcontractor Agreements.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and strong teamwork skills.


Physical Demands:


  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands.
  • Local travel within the Los Angeles area.
