ASSISTANT CORPORATION COUNSEL- MUNICIPAL PROSECUTOR OFFICE

The Law Department is seeking candidates to work in the Municipal Prosecutor’s office. The potential candidate will be prosecuting criminal, quasi-criminal, disorderly persons offenses, motor vehicle offenses and any other matters in which the Newark Municipal Court has jurisdiction. The candidate will review cases involving violations of City Code and State Statutes, perform legal research to support the State/City position in hearings and trials, prepare and respond to motions, and conduct discovery.

Preference of at least one year of related prosecution experience. Candidate must have admission to practice law in the State of New Jersey; license must be in good standing. Candidate must have also have obtained Juris Doctor Degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
