Synechron is looking for an OpenShift Infrastructure Specialist to join our Team in Dallas, TX'


We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist with expertise in Red Hat OpenShift to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting cloud-native platforms on OpenShift. This role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure automation, container orchestration, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, along with excellent troubleshooting skills.


OpenShift Platform Management:


  • Design, deploy, and maintain OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters for development, test, and production environments.
  • Manage and optimize OpenShift infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Configure and manage containerized workloads in OpenShift.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement best practices in container management and orchestration.

Infrastructure Operations:

  • Perform routine monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server, network, and storage systems.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management with tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Helm.
  • Ensure system security, compliance, and patching of OpenShift and associated infrastructure.


Performance Tuning and Optimization:

  • Monitor cluster performance, conduct root cause analysis for incidents, and implement solutions.
  • Provide recommendations for architecture improvements, system optimizations, and capacity planning.


Collaboration and Support:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between applications and infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support to developers and operations teams in their use of OpenShift platforms.
  • Document solutions, configurations, and procedures to ensure operational consistency.


Security and Governance:

  • Ensure systems are designed and managed with a security-first mindset.
  • Apply and enforce best practices for container security, identity management, and network policies in OpenShift.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes architecture and administration.
  • Experience with Linux system administration (RHEL preferred).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.


Technical Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Podman).
  • Experience in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
  • Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
  • Experience in networking, storage management, and troubleshooting in containerized environments.
  • Familiar with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.
