Job Description

Who You'll Work With

Arista's Sustainability Team is focused on decarbonization and enhanced sustainability in Arista's operations and supply chain, and reporting to stakeholders on our progress, as part of the greater cross-functional Arista ESG Team.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement regionally focused customer and supplier outreach and engagement strategies, programs, partnerships, and initiatives to create, maintain and bolster supplier relationships focused on GHG emissions and other environmental impact reduction.
  • Develop and/or support internal capacity building efforts, and interdepartmental relationships and collaboration focused on leveraging internal programs, practices, and resources to support assigned customer and supplier engagement.
  • Create and manage detailed strategies and project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations for assigned focus areas and activities
  • Collect, analyze, and support Arista reporting on key metrics related to GHG emissions, energy usage, renewable energy adoption and procurement, and other aspects of sustainability performance for assigned regional customers and suppliers, including progress toward higher resolution supplier-, commodity- and product-specific emission factors- and primary activity based value chain emissions accounting.
  • Prepare regular reports on assigned regional customer and supplier progress towards GHG reduction targets and other sustainability indicators targets, and prepare content for and/or participate in presentations and briefings to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and advocate for policies and procedures that support net zero and other sustainability goals.
  • Develop, deliver, and /or support training programs to educate both internal and external stakeholders about Arista’s Science Based, Net Zero and sustainability goals, and related best practices.
  • Communicate effectively across various channels to promote Arista’s sustainability achievements and initiatives.
  • Identify and recommend new technologies, processes, and best practices to enhance sustainability efforts.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert and advisor to Arista peers, and also working level customer and supplier contacts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, best practices and innovations related to sustainability, renewable energy, decarbonization, and net zero strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or masters degree(s) in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Engineering, Green Business, Sustainability Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, supply chain management, sustainable sourcing, renewable energy, energy efficiency, GHG management, climate change adaptation, or related field, with at least 2 years in a project management role.
  • Strong technical understanding of net zero principles, GHG accounting, decarbonization and sustainability policies, reporting frameworks, strategies, tactics, technologies, and current best practices. .
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and procurement, energy attribute certificates, and carbon removals and offsets is preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience in planning, executing, and monitoring projects, including a proven track record of managing complex projects and budgets, and leading cross-functional teams, including external consultants.
  • Experience in partnerships, supplier and/or customer engagement, including supply chain management and/or sustainability, green procurement, and/or customer/client facing relationship and account management roles are also preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and enterprise software relevant to sustainability metrics and general business processes and project management, preferably also for GHG emissions accounting and/or energy/renewable energy applications (e.g., Excel, GHG accounting and ESG reporting software, Google Sheets, Sisense, Smartsheets,etc.).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills – primarily in English, but bilingual or multilingual regional language skills are also helpful and preferred.
