JOB TITLE: Tool Control Designer I


GENERAL SUMMARY


We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tool Control Designer to join our client's growing team. This role will have the opportunity to partner with a leader in the aerospace industry creating designs for containers used by airplane mechanics. Flexible to work a hybrid work week.


MAOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES


Design and Drafting:

• Prepare dimensional drawings, installation drawings, and more complex drawings to established Company guidelines.

• Excel in 2D design, envisioning the manufactured product in 3D and understanding how individual components assemble.

  • Occasionally meet with clients at their location and foster strong relationships to better understand their needs. Travel is all local with maximum expected travel of 30% of the time. Mileage allowance will be provided.
  • Revise and update existing drawings and “clean” CAD drawings from scanned

Data, bringing it up to Company standards for improved manufacturability.


Documentation Management:

• Review layouts, plans, specifications and other customer documentation as requested by the Engineering Manager.

• Revise and update drawings for manufacturing/assembly, ensuring consistent project documentation.

• Maintain notes, design calculations, drawings, bills of materials, and other documentation for future reference.

• Follow Company drawing revision guidelines to maintain up-to-date documentation.

• Perform other duties related to CAD database maintenance and PDM.


QUALIFICATIONS


Education:


• Bachelor’s degree, Associate's degree, or Certificate from technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


Experience and Skills:


• Proficient in AutoCAD software.

• Ability to pass standard background and security checks.

  • Excellent communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.
  • Strong teamwork abilities.

• Skilled in PC usage including Microsoft Office.

• Ability to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications.

• Working knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures.

• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.





PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


• Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time, paying close attention to detail.

• Able to sit for extended periods of time.

• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
