Superintendent Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee construction sites and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent will be responsible for site supervision, coordination with subcontractors, and adherence to safety protocols.


Responsibilities:


Site Supervision & Coordination:

  • Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors to ensure smooth project progress.
  • Maintain daily logs and site documentation, including photos and detailed records.
  • Review scope of work with subcontractors before they begin work.
  • Ensure site cleanliness and organization.
  • Conduct quality control inspections of all work performed.
  • Maintain and update the site set of plans.
  • Schedule and attend inspections as required.
  • Accept and perform quality checks on deliveries.
  • Ensure site safety and security measures are followed.
  • Maintain and update the project schedule, including any delays and their causes.
  • Verify work completion before approving subcontractor payments.


KPIs:

  • Submit daily logs with sufficient documentation and photos for each project.
  • Keep site plans up to date.
  • Maintain clean and organized sites.
  • Ensure sites are secured at the end of each day.
  • Pass all inspections by the second attempt or less.
  • Keep schedules up to date for the weekly schedule meeting.
  • Meet or exceed baseline schedule dates for projects.
  • Conduct company standard quality control inspections as required.
  • Address site safety issues within one workday of observation.
  • Perform work verification walks before approving subcontractor payments.
  • Limit "No Work" days to no more than 2 per month.
  • Ensure 40 hours per week are accounted for on the time clock.
  • Achieve positive responses on client questionnaires regarding satisfaction.
  • Receive positive peer reviews on ability to work collaboratively.
  • Pursue continuous improvement through completed training/courses.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent is preferred.
