Amalgamated Bank of Chicago is hiring an Application System Analyst. This position is responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining computer-based financial applications and systems that meet the needs of the bank. The role requires the individual to work with various departments to understand their requirements and collaborate with team members and business partners to meet these needs.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Analyze existing systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
  • Conduct testing to ensure that software solutions are reliable, scalable, and efficient.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for software systems.
  • Manages the installation and/or upgrade of applications and tests after modification to ensure that functions are operational.
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT team to integrate new software solutions with existing systems.
  • Document software processes and procedures for future reference.
  • Reviews journals, articles, publications, and other material to stay abreast of products and issues pertaining to information services functions and to ensure that departmental policies and procedures comply with technological needs.
  • Completes special projects as required.
  • Assists in the disaster recovery function planning and testing process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area of study.
  • 2-3 years of experience in systems analysis and software development. Additionally, knowledge of programming languages, database management systems, and software development methodologies is essential.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with common FinTech (ie. Fiserv, FIS) core solutions (preferred)
  • Able to work and troubleshoot independently and as part of a team.
  • Have excellent business and technical communication skills to effectively gather requirements and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Programming languages: Have a good understanding of programming languages like Java, C++, Python, RESTApi., to develop and modify software applications.
  • Database management: Knowledge of database management systems Microsoft SQL Server and DB2
  • Operating systems: Windows, Windows Server and Linux
  • Software development lifecycle (SDLC): Understanding the software development lifecycle is critical for application system analysts as they are involved in all phases of software development, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment.
