Paragon IT Professionals is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst for a contract to hire position with our premier client in Pompano Beach, FL. They are looking for this to be hybrid - anywhere from 1-3 days in the office.


There are 3 spots available

Must be open to various shift work - Sunday through Thursday

Must be ok with a hybrid situation - 1-3 days in the office (Give or Take)

Overview:

As a SOC Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for protecting our organization's information systems and data from cyber threats. You will monitor security events, investigate incidents, and provide timely response to security alerts, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor security alerts and events using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Analyze and investigate security incidents, determining the root cause and impact.
  • Respond to security incidents promptly, containing and mitigating threats to minimize damage.
  • Perform threat hunting activities to proactively identify potential security risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security measures and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for incident response and security operations.
  • Participate in security incident exercises and simulations to test and improve response capabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security controls and technologies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of SOC processes and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Ideally 2-5+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • **MUST HAVE experience with Sentinel OR Splunk OR Chronicle**
  • Proven experience working in a SOC environment or related cybersecurity role.
  • Familiarity with security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and firewalls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Understanding of cloud security concepts and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of cybersecurity.
