The Director of Curriculum position is responsible for helping develop the accelerated, hybrid Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at Edgewood College. Specifically, the position is responsible for all program curricular planning, implementation, and review processes and will work directly with program faculty to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated curriculum based on foundational documents, best evidence, and contemporary clinical practice. The Director of Curriculum holds a faculty appointment and has administrative, academic/teaching, service, scholarship and clinical practice responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program.


The incumbent must reside or be willing to relocate to one of the following states upon hire: Wisconsin, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah or Virginia.


Responsibilities:

  • plans, and conducts all activities of the Curriculum Committee.
  • Program Director in the management of core and adjunct faculty, to include teaching responsibilities, course evaluations, and professional development.
  • all core and adjunct faculty regarding the curriculum plan, to include integration, threads, and their role in curriculum development and review.
  • of faculty in the development of syllabi, including construction of objectives and learning activities.
  • all course syllabi and coordinates institutional review by the College.
  • proper sequencing of courses within the curriculum.
  • class scheduling to optimize learning sequence.
  • that curriculum review is an ongoing process, culminating in an Annual Curriculum Review.
  • primary Committee oversight to the following components of the Program Assessment Plan and ACOTE Self Study Report: Curriculum Plan / Academic Curriculum, Clinical Education Curriculum, and Program Resources.
  • all program policies, procedures, and practices under the responsibility of the Director of Curriculum provide for compliance with accreditation policies and procedures.


Job Qualifications

Necessary Education or Work Experience:

  • terminal academic doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching or Doctor of Occupational therapy degree with specialization in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities.
  • therapist with an active, unrestricted license, eligible for licensure in Wisconsin.
  • in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
  • with teaching, advising, and mentoring students in a hybrid learning environment.
  • in immersive labs on campus one-two times per semester.
  • consistent with the assignment of faculty rank.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in occupational therapy clinical education.
  • of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting didactic and clinical education, students, and the profession of occupational therapy.
