Vestaboard is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product / QA Specialist for a 6-8 week contract role, with the potential for a full-time position based on performance and fit. This role is perfect for someone eager to start a career in product management and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.


Initially for this contract, you will focus on ensuring the quality and reliability of our software stack, including mobile apps, web apps, integrations, and firmware, while contributing to our team’s success. Please note that this contract role requires being in our Nashville office 5 days a week.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage quality assurance testing for our software, firmware, and integrations, ensuring all components meet high standards of quality and functionality.
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts to assess performance, usability, and reliability.
  • Perform manual and automated tests, track defects, and collaborate with the development team to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful product launches.
  • Support the Head of Product with product roadmap planning, feature prioritization, and strategic decisions related to software and firmware.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback analysis to provide insights for product improvements.
  • Provide technical support to the customer support team for complex issues related to software and firmware.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in quality assurance, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Previous experience in quality assurance testing or product operations, ideally in a software and hardware development environment.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes, with hands-on experience in manual and automated testing.
  • Eagerness to learn and gain exposure to various aspects of quality assurance and product operations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles and agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using testing tools and bug tracking systems.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality products and exceptional user experiences.
