Company Overview:

This global chemicals business is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join a dynamic team. Reporting to the VP HR, the HR Manager will play a key role in strategic decisions across all aspects of HR. This role will business partner with the senior leadership team and have a large focus on employee relations and strategic planning as opposed to administration and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting open communication and addressing employee concerns in a timely and empathetic manner.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with legal requirements and promote fairness and consistency across the organization.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Manage the design, implementation, and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis to ensure our compensation and benefits packages remain attractive and aligned with industry standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on compensation-related matters, including salary negotiations and performance-based incentives.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead the recruitment and selection process for all levels of positions within the chemicals business division.
  • Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies to attract top talent, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements, conduct interviews, and make hiring decisions that align with the company's strategic objectives.

Succession Planning:

  • Identify key roles and individuals within the organization and develop succession plans to ensure continuity and talent pipeline development.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to assess future leadership needs and identify high-potential employees for development opportunities.
  • Implement strategies to retain top talent and mitigate the risk of critical skill gaps within the organization.

Learning and Development:

  • Design and deliver training programs that address the skill development needs of employees at all levels.
  • Partner with department heads to identify training priorities and implement initiatives that support business goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback mechanisms and performance metrics, and make continuous improvements as necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources management, preferably within the chemicals or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement HR initiatives that support business objectives.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and other relevant software applications.
