The Role:

The person will be an Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams Administrator who will play a crucial role in both the daily support and strategic enhancement of our Exchange Online and Teams environments. This position involves managing day-to-day operations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal performance. Additionally, the role will lead and contribute to various projects aimed at improving and expanding our Microsoft 365 services.


Responsibilities:

  • Architect, deploy, and manage Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams environments.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and product owner for Microsoft 365 services and technologies – Define long-term roadmaps, make decisions on tactical needs of the technical team.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for Exchange Online and Teams to ensure compliance and security.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize configurations for efficiency and reliability.
  • Focused on continuous improvement in system reliability through automation and monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Exchange Online and Teams with other Microsoft 365 services.
  • Lead cross divisional enterprise infrastructure projects related to Microsoft 365 services.
  • Mentor application/system administrators on all elements of application administration, including technical, process, and documentation best practices. Additionally, serves as the point of escalation for other application administrators in the event of severe or critical issues impacting production operations.
  • Provides 24x7 on-call support for critical issues affecting applications/infrastructure.
  • Stay current with the latest developments and best practices in Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Act as a forward thinker to help ensure that new capabilities are evaluated, implemented, and operationalized.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior role focused on Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams.
  • It’s important that this person demonstrate experience with Office 365 and Microsoft 365.
  • Technical engineering experience required.
  • Extensive experience with the Microsoft 365 suite, with a focus on Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams but also including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure AD.
  • Strong understanding of email security protocols such as DMARC, DKIM, and SPF.
  • Familiarity with CISA security standards and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to understand objectives, gather automation requirements, write technical specifications, and perform in a lead role.
  • Experience estimating effort and establishing timelines for projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with a variety of team members.
  • Experience with other Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Power Platform, Intune) is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert are desirable.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Hourly contract rate range of $55.00 to $70.00 based on experience and qualifications, as well as geographical market and business considerations.
