The Rug Company is seeking a detail-oriented Operations & Logistics Coordinator to join our US Operations and Logistics team.


This role is responsible for coordinating, as well as reconciling, the daily movement of stock both in & out of the warehouse & this includes finished products, samples & all other sundry materials and/or marketing materials etc. This role will interact with our service providers, internal stakeholders as well as with our clients

 

The Operations & Logistics Coordinator will report to the US Operations Director but will also be the responsible person for our US sales team with day-to-day requests, deliveries, house visits and shipments across third party logistics and warehouse.


 Duties/ Responsibilities

 

·      Managing the NY logistics calendar, which includes outsourced warehouse and trouble shoot any conflicts with sales team, carriers, and drivers. This includes the daily management of a small team of drivers including management of daily tasks, van maintenance, parking, and tolls.

·      Prepare and distribute daily updates on all air and ocean shipments to appropriate parties (i.e., delivery orders, arrival notice, etc.)

·      Communication with internal procurement team and also with external carriers, origin and destination locations regarding shipment status, special handling, and delivery of freight.

·      Reconciling & verification of carrier & supplier invoices

·      Manage relationship with outsourced Warehouse working between the sales team and warehouse.

·      Track, trace, and monitor progress of shipments and deliveries to ensure timely processing.

·      Mediate delivery requirements and shipment tracking between customers, truckers, warehouses, and sales team to ensure proper delivery.

·      Responsible for updating shipment arrival in our SAP system.

·      Tracking any damages on arrival and troubleshooting if cleaning or a third-party claim is required.

·      Coordinate all inventory movements daily using ERP software & other means of communication

·      Plan, organize and prepare stock for large events such as sample sale, price changes, stocking new showrooms, trade shows etc

·      Perform quarterly stock take and reconcile all inconsistencies in inventory

·      Co- Ordinate and support sales and Operations Department with scheduling, planning, and logistics for all operations.

·      Maintain operational standards in line with company policies and procedures

·      Assist in delivering a world-class service to all our customers

 

Preferred Skills

Possess working knowledge of logistics in the transportation field. Possess solid technology skills, such as PowerPoint, Microsoft, and Excel (Microsoft Office suite), time management skills, ability to multi-task and a resourceful, customer friendly attitude. - Possess working knowledge or ability to learn quickly on SAP CRM system. Background in Luxury.

The role is hybrid with a requirement to be office based three days per week.
