Reporting to the SCADA and Engineering Managers and will be responsible for leading IT/OT project interfaces, implementing robust and cost-effective engineering strategies, solutions and plans, installation, planning and implementing delivery sites and logistics, complying with company and business engineering standards and technical acceptance criteria, and ensuring quality, best practices and excellent H&SE performance are applied.


Responsibilities

  • Provide key advice on Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) Networks, Cybersecurity and communications engineering, assessment and recommendations to ensure delivery of the SCADA package within time, to budget and quality following industry best practice and observing the maximum respect for Health, Safety and the Environment to ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
  • Provide expert advice to the SCADA Manager relating to OT and IT Networks, Telephony, Wide Area Networks and Local Area Networks.
  • Ensure that cyber assets, controls and designs are aligned with best practices and are in full compliance with corporate and NERC CIP cyber security policies and procedures.
  • Interfacing with 3rd parties for the purpose of integrating 3rd party vendor infrastructure and control systems into the employers’ IT and OT networks.
  • Provide professional advice on engineering strategies / risk levels and commercial agreements to the key package, to ensure that cost effective technical solutions are identified, fully evaluated and the risk profile is fully understood by the project.
  • Ensure that all assessment, advice, and recommendations are fully documented in accordance with all internal procedures and industry best practice, and that sufficient technical and commercial due diligence (whether internal or external) exists to support those business decisions.
  • Manage the inspection and commissioning of IT and OT related aspects of offshore plant to ensure that assets are supplied and installed to the required quality and engineering standards.
  • Implement offshore standards, procedures, tools, best practices and quality requirements for key work packages to ensure that packages are delivered according to specification, budget and programme without compromising safety.
  • Maintain full awareness of the latest technical and commercial developments and identify suitable new related technology that has the potential to reduce cost and risk or improve safety.

Qualifications

  • Educated to University Degree level in a relevant computer engineering or science discipline.
  • Substantial experience designing IT and OT Networks for power generating stations, preferably in the offshore industry.
  • Experience with NERC CIP standards and compliance for cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with TSO Transmission System Operator (TSO) communication interfaces would be an asset.
  • Experience of coordinating with Contractors and Operation Centres involved in the delivery of OT/IT projects in international environments.
  • Proven experience in delivery of large OT/IT projects, including interface management, programme management, cost and risk control.
  • Pro-active and diligent approach.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and develop key engineering decisions.
  • Excellent report writing, presentation skills and ability to summarize key parameters and drivers impacting the package.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Sound planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and see / anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implements mitigating solutions to negate the effect of such problems.
