Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Psychologist to join our educational team in Illinois. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students' mental health and academic success, working collaboratively with educators, parents, and administration to foster a safe, positive, and productive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other school staff.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, social, and behavioral concerns.
  • Serve as a resource for teachers and school staff, offering strategies for classroom management and supporting students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop interventions and strategies to support student well-being and academic achievement.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and provide support to students experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Advocate for students and help develop school policies to promote mental health awareness and inclusion.
  • Provide training to staff and parents on mental health issues, behavioral management techniques, and educational strategies.
  • Maintain confidential records and comply with state and federal regulations regarding student privacy.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Valid School Psychologist license in the state of Illinois (PEL certification with a School Psychologist endorsement).
  • Strong knowledge of psychological testing, assessment tools, and interpretation of results.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, 504 plans, and IEP processes.
  • Crisis intervention training and experience in a school environment is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with diverse student populations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (or other languages) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of social-emotional learning (SEL) programs and initiatives.
