The Team: As a member of the Global Infrastructure Team, you will be part of a team of highly skilled IT infrastructure engineers dedicated to excellence and responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining IT infrastructure solutions on-premise and in the cloud that deliver and protect Cognex’s compute, storage and networking requirements in support of customer requirements throughout Cognex. The Role: As a Principal Backup and Recovery Engineer, you’ll design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions. Your advanced expertise ensures data protection and swift recovery during disruptions. You’ll lead BDR strategy, technical implementation, and incident response.



Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop BDR strategy aligned with business objectives.
  2. Design and implement enterprise-level BDR solutions.
  3. Provide technical leadership and mentorship.
  4. Regularly test and optimize disaster recovery plans.
  5. Ensure compliance and maintain documentation.
  6. Assess infrastructure capacity and plan for scalability.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven successful track record in backup and recovery engineering.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of backup technologies, disaster recovery planning, and cloud solutions.
  • Experience with VMware, Cohesity, Zerto, Solar Winds, AWS EC2, S3, Containers and Docker; Azure Compute and Storage Services
  • Familiarity with API Security, Container Security, AWS Cloud Security
  • Knowledge of PCI-DSS, HIPPA, SOX, GDPR, and CCPA Standards and Policies and the associated certification and audit processes
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor teams effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent collaboration, project management, and communication skills.
