As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, this position will support the development of mechanical systems and equipment by reviewing the Engineer of Record (EOR) prepared engineering deliverables including: studies, calculations, piping and instrumentation diagrams, heat & mass balance diagrams, calculations, engineering specifications, data sheets, piping isometrics, material requisitions, and more in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.


Required Education and Experience

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college with six (15) years of progressive related experience, or in lieu of a degree, twenty (20) years of progressive related experience
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical discipline project design engineering experience in power and/or utility stations.
  • Related experience must include, but is not limited to, experience in Piping and Instrument Diagram (P&ID) development, fluid system design, hydraulic, heat transfer, and thermodynamic calculations, and equipment specification and design development for waste processing, nuclear, refinery, power, or chemical process facilities
  • Familiar with the selection and technical requirements of general mechanical equipment including Gas Turbine, Heat Recovery Steam Generator, Steam Turbine, Heat exchangers, Water Treatment Systems, Rotating Machinery, etc.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards
  • Extensive knowledge and application of ANSI/ASME Codes and Standards including ASME B31.1 or B31.3

Other Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of project experience for projects in excess of $250mUSD • Knowledge of 3D CAD software and AutoCAD preferred.
  • Engineering/Construction exposure in multiple disciplines
