Job Summary:


The Quality Engineer at Magnet-Schultz of America will act as the lead quality representative for product development (APQP) & production (Manufacturing & Assembly) by assuring all requirements of the Quality Management System are being followed. 


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct the Production Part Approval Process when it is required. 
  • Act as an Internal Auditor within Magnet-Schultz of Americas Quality Management System per ISO: 9001/IATF: 16949.
  • Manage all Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s) & Corrective & Preventive Action Reports (CAPA’s).
  • Responsible for all Quality Related task within Magnet-Schultz of Americas APQP process.
  • Act as the quality liaison between Magnet-Schultz of America & the Customer.
  • Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained.
  • Effectively complete the Quality Engineers Responsibilities for an Engineering Change Order (ECO).
  • Develops and programs dimensional laboratory equipment. Modifies and creates new programs for CMM and Vision Systems based on interpretation of complex drawings. 
  • Conducts measurement system analysis (MSA) to support Engineering and Project/Program Managers.
  • Leads measurement feasibility review for all new parts and print changes and participates in customer meetings as needed.
  • Maintains and updates metrology sample log with current status. Updates APQP workflow. 
  • Clear understanding of GD&T.
  • Train others in use of inspection equipment, print interpretation, and Quality System procedures.
  • Perform dimensional layouts and document results per PPAP requirements
  • Identify, segregate, and document Nonconforming Materials per documented procedures.
  • Actively work on improving and streamlining the CAPA program to ensure it operates efficiently and effectively.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Technical background or significant experience within a Quality Management System.
  • Proficient working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Certified as an Internal Auditor for ISO: 9001 and IATF 16949 is preferred.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to lift 35 to 50 pounds.
