Ecological Land Services, Inc. (ELS) is looking for the next great addition to our team ELS is an environmental consulting firm serving the Pacific Northwest and Southeast Alaska. We specialize in land, water, and shoreline projects involving wetlands, streams, wildlife, habitat, and endangered, threatened, and sensitive species.


We are seeking a full-time Biologist/Environmental Scientist to join our motivated team of professionals. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, organized, and have both strong written and oral communication skills to manage a diverse workload with a primary focus on environmental permitting. This Biologist/Environmental Scientist will be accountable to their Branch Manager and work closely with technical staff.

Desired Qualifications

• A multidisciplinary science-based background, including, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental, or Natural Resource Sciences,

• Prior environmental permitting and/or field experience of a similar nature is desired.

• Good physical condition and ability to work in all weather conditions and rough terrain for extended periods.


Duties and Responsibilities

The Biologist/Environmental Scientist will manage all aspects of project permitting from inception to permit issuance, with a general ratio of 75% to 25% office-to-field time. Responsibilities may include:

• Conducting fieldwork (data collection, wetland delineation, stream assessments, wildlife surveys)

• Preparing a variety of technical reports and permit applications

• Monitoring wetland and stream projects for permit compliance

• Coordinating with clients, project team members, and agency personnel
