Founding Engineer | San Francisco | $300,000 & Equity| On Site We are working with an early-stage AI startup who are building core infrastructure for turning complex, unstructured data into reliable, production-ready systems used by real enterprise customers. We’re looking for a Founding Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale the technical foundation of the company from day one.Responsibilities Architect, build, and scale core backend systems that power document intelligence and VLM-driven workflowsOwn production infrastructure holistically, including deployments, monitoring, performance, and reliabilityDesign and operate high-throughput, low-latency services in real-world production environmentsLead systems through the full lifecycle, from R&D to production to enterprise scaleBuild and maintain cloud and on-premise deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm for enterprise customersQualifications Proven experience building, scaling, and operating production-grade systemsStrong backend engineering background (Python required; experience with C++ or Rust is a significant plus)Solid experience designing and working with distributed systems, including microservices, parallel processing, queues, and caching layersDeep familiarity with modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Hands-on experience with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and tools like Terraform or PulumiExperience in Quantitative Finance is a huge +This role is on site in San FranciscoSalary up to $300,000 + meaningful equityGet in touch if you are interested
