Infant Lead Guide, Child Garden Montessori

Child Garden Montessori offers unique learning opportunities for children in a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment. With a Montessori curriculum and focus on early childhood education and development, we strive to provide the best foundation for children to build upon for future success. Our school is located in the beautiful Loring Park neighborhood near downtown Minneapolis behind the Basilica building, with opportunities for walks to the park, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, the Minneapolis Farmers Market and other parts of the neighborhood.


Role Description

This is a full-time position for a Montessori Infant Guide. The Infant guide will prepare the Montessori classroom environment and present the Montessori materials to children ages 6 weeks to 18 months.  In addition, they will provide a safe and nurturing environment to ensure every child's wellbeing and engage with parents or caregivers to keep them abreast of their child's progress.  The lead Infant Guide will direct and collaborate with a team of two to three assistants throughout the day.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field preferred
  • Montessori training or experience is a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Montessori Infant Teacher or in a similar role
  • Thorough understanding of child development principles and a commitment to child-centered approach to teaching


Responsibilities

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with children, parents and caregivers
  • Patience, creativity and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of infants
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with child observation and assessment tools to inform and individualize learning experiences for infants
  • Ability to work Collaboratively as a team
  • Familiarity with state licensing requirements for early childhood education
