SCHEDULE: Full-Time / Monday-Friday Day Shift / 10.5 hour shifts / On-call Rotation

FACILITY: Mount Olive Correctional Complex

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Nursing will supervise and participate in the preparation of plans, and report teaching fundamentals, including patient care and health record documentation. The proper candidate will work effectively with patients, medical and nursing staff, security staff at all levels, administrative and support staff and consulting physicians.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Standard medical setting within a correctional facility, which includes daily interfacing with inmate patients, correctional staff, and health care personnel. Temperature extremes may be encountered while moving throughout the facility outdoors and indoors in buildings without air conditioning.

Job Requirements:

TRAVEL: Minimal travel throughout the region is required.

LICENSING: Current Nursing License within the state of West Virginia.

CERTIFICATION: Current CPR certification.

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN, preferred.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years of administrative and/or correctional nursing experience preferred.

OTHER PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • General math and analytical skills, and planning, administrative and organizational skills essential.
  • Demonstrated experience meeting multiple deadlines. Must ensure documents are ready for review well in advance of any deadline.
  • Ability to competently manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.
  • Must be able assist staff with various policies, administrative and organizational projects.
