Production Planner

HTI is recruiting for a Production Planner (or Senior Production Planner) with a manufacturing company in Summerville, SC. This is a direct hire, full-time, onsite position. Working hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and relocation assistance for candidates located outside of the area.

Salary is dependent upon education and experience, and the range is $70,000 - $85,000 / year.

Requirements:

• Must have either an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, Business, or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Production Planner in a manufacturing environment preferred, but open to candidates with logistics/inventory management experience in the manufacturing or 3PL industries.
• 2+ years of experience with SAP or Oracle preferred.
• Experience in capacity planning, inventory control, logistics/delivery coordination, and customer communication.
• Confident and professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and/or JIT/JIS is preferred.
• Experience at an automotive supplier manufacturing plant is preferred.
• Familiarity with AIAG; APICS certification is a plus.

Job duties include:

• Plan and implement production schedules to fulfil customer requirements, ensuring that JIT/JIS and delivery requirements are met.
• Monitor customer EDI and advanced shipping notices.
• Create production schedule to ensure customer deliveries are met and correct inventory levels are achieved.
• Communicate with Production Planning team and management regarding any issues that may impact scheduling, deliveries, and capacity.
• Coordinate engineering changes to support customer needs while minimizing obsolescence.
• Maintain daily communication with customers, shipping, manufacturing, materials, and third-party logistics partners.
• Work to continually improve material and production flow to achieve improved cycle times and inventory levels.
• Recommend and monitor finished goods inventory levels and accuracy.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in lean manufacturing practices.
• Work with cross-functional groups to improve processes and flow.
• Assist with inventory activities.
