Our Client, a Biotechnology Company, is focused on separation products for various markets including the growing pharmaceutical and biotechnology areas of drug discovery and development. The company is in Wilmington, Delaware. The primary products are in the field of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) columns. HPLC is the most used analytical method in the world, products are targeted at the fastest growing segment of that market. Company provides a growing workplace that challenges individuals to perform to their full potential.

Position Description

Quality and QA Specialist is responsible for managing Quality Systems and final silica and bonding quality assurance testing. The responsibilities include maintaining documented information and records for the site, planning and execution to plan of annual ISO 9001 Internal and external audits, maintaining Corrective Action process for the site, and assisting with organizing of Management Systems Reviews. In addition to managing of quality systems, the ambitious individual with a BS or BA in chemistry or a related field runs quality assurance testing of products. This will include loading HPLC columns and running HPLC experiments, including the preparation of mobile phases and samples. Additional responsibilities include running physical tests on the material, as well as assisting with applications work.

Requirements

Musts:

  • BS or BA degree in chemistry or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lead teams and define and execute annual plans.
  • Ability to follow procedures closely, detail oriented.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
  • Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired:

  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and Management Systems Auditing certification and working experience.
  • Experience operating liquid chromatography instruments.
  • Knowledge of solution/sample preparation
  • Ability to recognize inconsistent or unexpected analytical results.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Familiar with handling and analysis of biological samples
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or related applications
