Today, BAC provides mental health and substance use-related social services, comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, and coordinated health care and supportive services to under-served racial and ethnic minority communities in the Brooklyn and other parts of New York City.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing oversight for the day to day operation of the Mental Health clinic. This position oversees services provided in Mobile Crisis, Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment and mobile unit.


The ideal candidate will use their knowledge of the healthcare industry to oversee medical treatment, handle employee relations and effectively direct and motivate staff. This position will regularly provide support for supervising, directing, training and coaching staff and effectively communicate with medical staff as a liaison to medical facilities.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a team of clinicians and provides supervision to ensures clinic deliverables are met, Run, analyze, and interpret reports to inform QA/QI and supervision
  • Ensure all data collection (chart documentation) are accurate and complete, and done in a timely manner.
  • Ensures quality of program and compliance with regulations through ongoing chart reviews and day to day clinical oversight of clinic
  • Serves as a back-up for the weekly team meetings: In absence of Sr. Clinical Supervisor- monitors, updates and distributes high risk list weekly; monitors and updates admissions and discharges.
  • Oversees the mobile unit and services provided in the field.
  • Co-Chairs the Mobile unit team meeting with the Prevention Education department.
  • Oversees the mobile crisis team.
  • Carry a caseload of clients to provide on-going therapy, conducts assessment/reassessments of client service needs and priorities according to OMH standards (develops (in conjunction with client) appropriate treatment plans based on assessment), and administer appropriate behavioral interventions as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Case conferencing with other providers to determine goals/objectives, activities and who will perform needed tasks related to mental health issues for client and family
  • Submit daily, weekly and monthly statistics with expected deliverables
  • Creates/forms linkage agreements with potential referral sources.
  • Supervises/Coordinates interns as part of our Clinical Internship program
  • Be familiar with the policies and laws that govern the provision of health care services in the United States.
  • Will be on-call and have a variable schedule based on clients needs.
  • Other duties as assigned and required by the Behavioral Health Department.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience understanding and demonstrated ability to generate revenues for clinical services.
  • Experience with Medicaid/manage care and other types of client billings.
  • Experience working in the community and knowledge of community resources.
  • A strong written and oral communication skill is necessary.
  • Knowledge of OMH regulations required.
  • Knowledge of Evidenced Based Practices (Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Health Belief Model, CBT)*


EDUCATION:

  • MINIMUM: Master's degree in social work or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCES:

  • MINIMUM: Three (3) years supervisory experience

LICENSURE: LCSW Required

  • CERTIFICATION: SIFI (preferred)
