Job Description:
- We are seeking a skilled Jira Developer to review, enhance, and streamline Jira workflows across the customer's projects.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Jira administration, workflow automation, and best practices in project management.
- The candidate will be responsible for reviewing existing workflows, identifying areas for improvement, deleting redundant or unneeded workflows, and creating new workflows that align with our customer's organizational needs and project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the current Jira workflows for efficiency, consistency, and alignment with project management goals.
- Identify redundant, inefficient, or outdated workflows and remove or update them as needed.
- Design, configure, and implement new Jira workflows tailored to the evolving needs of teams across the organization.
- Utilize Jira automation tools and scripting (e.g., Jira Automation, Groovy, or other scripting languages) to optimize processes and eliminate manual work where possible.
- Work closely with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that workflows meet project specifications.
- Thoroughly test new workflows to ensure they function as expected, and document changes for transparency and future reference.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Jira workflows, including resolving any system issues or bottlenecks.
- Apply best practices for Jira administration, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and ease of use for all teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Jira Developer or similar role with expertise in Jira administration and workflow management.
- Hands-on experience with Jira Automation, scripting (Groovy, JavaScript, or similar), and add-ons (e.g., ScriptRunner).
- Strong understanding of project management principles and ability to design workflows that align with the methodologies used within the organization (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on improving processes and workflow efficiency.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to document technical processes clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Confluence integration.
- Familiarity with other Atlassian products (e.g., Bitbucket, Bamboo).
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and how they integrate with Jira workflows.
