Production Group Leader

MAU is hiring a Production Group Leaders at our client in Conyers, GA. As a Job Title, you will assist management in the successful operation of plastic colorants and compounds department. This is a 1st shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, direct-hire opportunity.

General Requirements:


  • Read, write, add, subtract, multiply, and divide proficiently
  • Good mechanical and electrical inclination and superior troubleshooting ability


Essential Functions:


  • Plan, organize, and control assigned resources as necessary to meet department objectives
  • Assist management in achieving the safety, quality, and efficiency goals of the plastic colorants department
  • Continually strive to meet customer requirements, including production deadlines and quality standards
  • Assist management in the reporting of production and related activities for the assigned shift, including but not limited to, the reporting of productivity, efficiency, and safety
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the production schedule, including the scheduling of vacation time for the assigned shift
  • Prepare batch tickets, labels, and other production documents as needed
  • Relieve, regulate, and schedule breaks, lunches, vacations, and other absences
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping and organization
  • Train coworkers to continually improve the productivity, efficiency, and quality of work in the department
  • Motivate employees to meet set objectives and work as a tam
  • Operate equipment as needed to meet scheduling and production schedules
  • Responsible for the Preventive Maintenance of assigned equipment
  • Shutdown and startup of the department and factory when necessary
  • Monitor the dust and mist collectors, boiler, chill wat system, air compressors, water sump, vacuum dust drums, and other facility systems as necessary
  • Lead shift physical inventory counts and daily inventory management
  • Assist in the shipping and receiving of materials for the department as needed
  • Handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials
  • Relieving other group leaders as assigned by management
  • Perform other tasks as assigned


Physical Demands:


This position may require the following to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.


  • Ability to lift and move materials such as 55 pound packages and full 55 gallon drums
