Summary: The Foundry Supervisor is responsible for all activities related to the foundry. This position manages, coordinates and ensures manufacturing short and long-term goals are achieved within designated timelines.
We are currently looking for a results-oriented Foundry Supervisor with at least five (5) years of recent relevant experience in running a highly efficient Foundry. This person will have a dramatic impact on implementing new process and procedures in regards to management of projects and work orders. Direct maintenance of all Foundry equipment; inventory and accessories in the Foundry area by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Maintain and give updates to the shops production schedule.
- Communicate all work in progress and inform upper management of potential problems with agreed deadlines.
- Work with the planning team to establish work schedule which reflects the shop capacity.
- Coach and train operators to make quality parts, safely.
- Provide training in production, in-process quality inspection, material handling, equipment safety, and hazardous materials.
- Plan jobs and preventive maintenance to fully utilize the foundry resources, and monitor employees and equipment to ensure they are running at optimal efficiencies.
- Sort and dispense of non-conforming materials in accordance with established Quality Control guidelines.
- Increase production and quality, decrease scrap, and constantly improve processes.
- Continuous process improvement, lean, 5S
- Provides additional support to the department as needed.
Experience
- Strong people manager with a proven record of team building
- Proven ability to influence and drive measurable results
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to prioritize
- Experience with IBM AS-400, Infor XA
