Job Requirements:

  • The Application Architect will play a crucial role in shaping the architecture of cloud-based software solutions, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in application system architecture and design, with the ability to define architecture standards, lead architecture review boards, and collaborate closely with key business and technical stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of creating design patterns that enhance software quality, operational efficiency, and long-term maintainability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and champion architecture standards, best practices, and design principles for cloud-based SaaS offerings.
  • Lead architecture review boards to secure buy-in and acceptance of key architectural decisions from technical and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between architectural vision and development efforts.
  • Drive the creation of repeatable design patterns that lead to high-quality software solutions, focusing on ease of operation and maintenance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams to ensure adherence to architectural guidelines.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to inform architectural strategies and decisions.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in enterprise-level architecture, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based distributed applications and SaaS offerings.
  • Extensive background in application architecture and design, with a track record of delivering scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.
  • Preferred experience with Elastic and MongoDB.
  • Hands on Application Architecture experience.
  • Experience leading architecture review boards and effectively communicating architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in defining architecture standards, best practices, and establishing repeatable design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly in designing applications for scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
  • Proficiency in designing scalable and resilient systems.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and containerization.
  • Experience with architecture modeling and documentation tools.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Professional certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies.
  • Experience with data architecture and database design in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations related to cloud solutions in the financial services and retail industries.
