Staff Firmware Engineer

We're looking for a creative, analytical and experienced Staff Firmware Engineer to join a world-class team in Santa Clara (Hybrid).


This is a leading international semiconductor company building AI processors that are transforming vision, language processing, reinforcement learning and a lot more. The team is seeing lots of market success, and you'd be representing a company worth almost half a billion USD.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Working in an R&D environment with CPUs, boot processes, UEFI, and other low-level system components.
  • Develop and maintain firmware for industry-leading ML chips.
  • Taking ownership of server standardization, updates and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the internal software development team to ensure seamless integration.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of real-time operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies.


Qualifications:

  • 6-10+ years of firmware development experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of CPUs, boot processes, UEFI, and low-level system components.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining firmware for complex hardware systems.
  • Proficiency in real-time operating systems and their design.
  • Deep understanding of firmware industry standards and bodies such as OCP, TCG and DMTF.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
