Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Mechanics - will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks within their assigned area in within the company Labeling Department. Food background is a plus. Must have some supervisory experience, working knowledge of Print Reading, Millwright, welding, electrical, and show strong attention to detail. Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in Plant Maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
· Repair and maintains plant machinery and equipment, in a timely and efficient manner, including, but not limited to:
o Canning equipment
o Fill Room equipment
o Cook Room equipment
o Hydro Areas
· Performs work order repairs, inspections and adjustments ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
· Conducts electrical troubleshooting on motors and sensors
· Conducts mechanical trouble shooting on gear boxes, belts and hoses
· Responsible for some fabrication
· Assist with and complete work orders, maintenance logs, waste water logs, etc.
· Respond to requests for maintenance on production lines which may be in any area of the plant and not limited to assigned work areas
· Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead lower level maintenance mechanics.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· High School graduate or GED equivalent.
· Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
· Certified as a licensed electrician helpful, but not required.
· Experience working with waste water systems helpful, but not required.
. Experience welding and print reading helpful, but not required.
. Supervision experience is necessary
. Millwright experience is necessary (must be able to install, dismantle, maintain, repair, reassemble, and move machinery).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
. Ability to read prints.
· Ability to communicate with others orally.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
· Must have good mathematical skills to include basic algebra for calculation of electrical/electronic equations as applicable
REASONING ABILITY
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

There is a wide variation of temperatures, ranging from 35° F to 100° F in the various work areas. The work environment is wet and slippery most of the time. The noise level in the production work environment is usually loud. Works with various odors and products. Partners are required to wear various forms of PPE, including, but not limited to: hearing protection, hairnets, and anti-slip footwear.
