Supply Chain Logistics Manager

Norfolk, United States Marine Oil Service, Inc. Full time

The Supply Chain and Logistics Manager will be responsible for ordering product, coordination of freight logistics (based on vessel schedules) and allocation of product for delivery of Marine Oil Service lubricant products.


Key Responsibilities include:

· Responsible for keeping sufficient inventory levels based on forecasting

· Receive, input, and process all new incoming orders and purchase orders

· Order any missing products needed for new orders while optimizing transportation costs

· Liaise with 3rd party logistics companies to set up transportation

· Coordinate with and support Operations Team regarding changes in vessel schedule that could create inventory/ supply issues

· Coordinate with freight companies, blending plants and satellite locations about product shipments, deliveries, and changes in receiving schedule

· Pivot immediately and update logistics when a vessel lifting schedule shifts or a plant is unable to ship product on time

· Investigate and track down missing or damaged items from inbound receipts

· Perform Inventory counts (with help of warehouse staff) and resolve any discrepancies


The skills or experience needed for this job include:

  • A 4-year degree and at least 2 years of Operations or Logistics
  • OR at least 5 years of Operations, Supply Chain, or Warehouse and Freight Logistics experience
  • An understanding of “Just in Time” shipping
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced changing environment
  • Experience in a customer service oriented business
  • Advanced organization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative when needed and respond positively to change
  • Possess a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass pre-employment background check, physical and drug screening
  • Must be able to commute locally. This is not a remote position.
  • We offer a competitive salary between $50,000 and $75,000 based on experience and ability. We also offer paid vacation and holidays along with a comprehensive benefits package.
