Company Overview:

Our client is a well-respected law firm in Malibu, CA. It is currently seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and ambitious Associate Attorney with a passion for mission-driven work to join its dynamic legal team. This role specializes in handling complex consumer class actions related to data privacy and misuse. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload involving intricate legal issues such as data breaches, data misuse, and other high-stakes consumer class actions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new cases and prepare case proposals.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
  • Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents in file-ready form.
  • Oversee the filing process for motions and briefs.
  • Prepare, finalize, and serve litigation documents including stipulations, discovery letters, joint statements, and proposed orders.
  • Correspond with co-counsel, opposing counsel, court personnel, and clients as necessary.
  • Draft, propound, review, and respond to discovery; manage discovery disputes.
  • Prepare for and take/defend depositions.
  • Attend mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings, taking an active role in arguments.
  • Lead and participate in team and firm meetings.
  • Adhere to all internal and court-mandated deadlines.
  • Perform administrative duties related to legal practice.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of litigation experience.
  • Active CA Bar Admission required; NY or IL admission is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong writing, legal research, and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, self-sufficient thinker with strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle a wide range of legal matters.
  • Strong commitment to superior client service.
  • Familiarity with e-filing is preferred.
