Position: Interior Designer (CAD/Technical Specialist)

Location: Fort Worth, TX (In-house position)

Role Overview:

At Semmelmann Interiors, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Interior Designer with expertise in CAD and technical design to join our award-winning team. This role is designed for a dynamic individual skilled at creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, space planning, and construction documentation. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of architectural CAD, including cabinet elevations and colorized renderings, and a keen eye for selecting optimal furniture, lighting, and fabrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction and CAD Design: Produce comprehensive 2D and 3D CAD models and construction documents. Ensure designs meet both aesthetic and functional needs.
  • Project Management and Coordination: Lead projects from inception to completion, working closely with subcontractors and conducting site visits to align with design specifications.
  • Client Interaction: Directly engage with clients to understand their vision, maintaining constant communication and managing expectations throughout the design process. Must dress professionally in a manner that is professionally appropriate for the setting and client facing role.
  • FF&E Selection: Utilize your expertise to select furniture, fixtures, and equipment that complement project themes and meet client preferences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in interior design, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, V-Ray, Autodesk 3Ds Max, or similar drafting software.
  • Demonstrable experience in architectural CAD, including detailed construction documents and elevations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong preference for face-to-face and phone interactions.
  • A client-focused mindset, capable of managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
