Electronics Technician - Quality Lab | Dayton, OH

Contract role 6-9+ months | Full-time with full benefits


Client may opt to convert to permanent at completion of project.


Kelly Engineering, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking an Electronics Technician for a quality lab for a long-term engagement at one of our Global Construction and Mining devices clients in Dayton, OH.

Position Overview

The Electronics Technician is broadly responsible for performing moderately complex electronic technical support work. Daily tasks involve detailed testing, in-depth troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repair of various electronic components and systems according to engineering instructions. This individual will be expected to utilize electronic and organizational skills to evaluate, test, and support detailed analyses.


Position Responsibilities

  • Investigative analysis of electronic, electrical, and mechanical field-failed parts
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal instructions
  • Troubleshooting component circuitry
  • Administrative skills in Quality Lab inventory management
  • Product functional tester operation / analysis
  • Collaborate with and take direction from Quality Lab Engineers
  • Collaboration with Quality department on failure analysis reporting
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary.


Education

  • Associates degree, in Electronic Engineering Technology (EET) preferred
  • 2 years of commercial experience in skilled work; performing troubleshooting and repair efforts of electronics equipment and systems.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job will be considered.


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Requires the ability and knowledge to operate hand or power tools, and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.) directly related to the job function of an electronic technician.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Perform professional-level work.
  • Maintain accountability for inventory/equipment care.
  • Read and understand electronic circuit schematics, and electrical and system drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in analysis and processes/ability to recognize improvement opportunities.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude as well as manual dexterity to work well in a bench test environment.
  • Self-motivated and team player/schedule conscious when performing multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in computer skills / Proprietary databases – Google Applications
  • Excellent analytical, verbal communication and technical writing skills
