Safety Specialist – Multi-Site Manufacturing Operations

A growing manufacturing group in the greater Charlotte region is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to oversee safety programs across three locations, including converting operations, a warehouse, and a small plastics manufacturing site. With approximately 200 total employees, these facilities require a hands-on safety leader who understands the unique demands of production-driven environments.This role is ideal for a safety professional who thrives on the floor, builds strong relationships with supervisors and operators, and consistently delivers measurable improvements in workplace safety. Manufacturing safety experience is required.Key Responsibilities • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs across all three sites • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements; coordinate directly with state and federal representatives when needed • Lead monthly safety training, new-hire safety onboarding, and GHS instruction • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments in production, warehouse, and plastics environments • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; document findings and drive corrective actions • Analyze safety data to identify trends and build proactive prevention programs • Partner with site leadership to strengthen safety culture and promote consistent best practices • Support emergency response planning, including drills and evacuation procedures • Coordinate required inspections, testing, and maintenance of safety systems with outside contractors • Provide on-the-floor coaching to employees and supervisors to reinforce safe behaviorsQualifications • Associate degree in a safety-related discipline • Proven safety experience in a manufacturing environment (required) • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant safety standards • Skilled in training, communication, and influencing teams at all levels • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail • Proficient with Microsoft Office • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and building a strong safety cultureBenefits Include: 401(k) with match • Health, dental, and vision insurance • Life insurance • FSA • Paid time off • Paid jury duty • Referral programThis is an onsite role serving all three Charlotte-area facilities.If you are a proactive manufacturing safety professional ready to make an immediate impact, we’d like to meet you.Work Authorization:Applicants must have valid, independent authorization to work in the United States.
