RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Land Surveys:

  • Conduct surveys using advanced surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels.
  • Determine and document precise measurements of land features, boundaries, and elevations.
  • Analyze survey data and prepare detailed reports, maps, and drawings.


2. Boundary Determination:

  • Research and analyze legal documents, deeds, and previous surveys to establish accurate property boundaries.
  • Resolve boundary disputes and discrepancies through thorough investigation and communication with relevant parties.


3. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to land surveying.
  • Stay informed about changes in surveying laws, codes, and standards.


4. Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals to integrate survey data into project plans.
  • Provide input during the planning and design phases of construction projects to ensure alignment with survey data.


5. Quality Control:

  • Implement quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of survey data.
  • Conduct field checks and verifications to confirm the precision of survey results.


6. Client Communication:

  • Interact with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Communicate survey findings and results clearly and understandably to clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.


7. Technology Integration:

  • Stay updated on advancements in surveying technology and incorporate new tools and software into surveying practices.


8. Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead surveying teams, providing guidance and support to junior surveyors.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
  • Professional Land Surveyor license (PLS) for the state of Missouri is required (Candidates with licenses in both Missouri and Illinois preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles, legal requirements, and technical methodologies.
  • Proficient in using surveying equipment and software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
