Job Title: L3 VDI Administrator

Location: Stamford, CT/onsite

Job Description:

Need a L3 VDI Administrator who is a highly skilled IT professional responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of a complex Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.

This role demands a deep understanding of virtualization technologies, network infrastructure, and security best practices. The L3 VDI Administrator will provide advanced troubleshooting, problem resolution, and capacity planning for the VDI environment, ensuring optimal performance and user experience. Responsibilities Design and Implementation: * Develop and execute VDI architecture strategies aligned with business objectives. * Design and implement new VDI solutions and enhancements. * Participate in infrastructure planning and capacity management. Administration and Maintenance: * Manage and maintain VDI infrastructure components, including hypervisors, virtual desktops, and associated network components. * Perform ongoing performance tuning and optimization of the VDI environment. * Manage user provisioning, de-provisioning, and access control. * Implement and enforce security policies and procedures. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: * Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex VDI issues. * Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. * Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues. Capacity Planning and Optimization: * Monitor VDI environment performance and resource utilization. * Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure optimal performance. * Identify and implement opportunities for optimization. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: * Maintain comprehensive documentation of VDI infrastructure, processes, and procedures. * Provide knowledge transfer and training to L1 and L2 support teams.

Primary skills:*

Extensive experience with VDI technologies (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops).* Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).* Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and security best practices.* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Secondary Skills:*

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).* Experience with cloud-based VDI solutions (e.g., AWS WorkSpaces, Azure Virtual Desktop).
