We are seeking a dynamic Controller to serve as a cornerstone in driving strategic decisions that support both short-term imperatives and long-term growth objectives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all accounting and financial functions within our Jered business unit. Additionally, you will collaborate with a cohesive team to craft and execute policies and procedures aimed at identifying, addressing, and documenting accounting and business challenges. Your focus will also encompass enhancing procedures to streamline the closing and reporting processes, driving efficiency and efficacy.

Requirements

  • Bachelors and/or Masters’ Degree in Business Administration with a focus on accounting.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting within project-based manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a role equivalent to a controller or higher.
  • Proficiency in Government cost accounting standards and familiarity with FAR provisions.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and clear decision-making skills.
  • Proven track record of successful financial leadership.
  • Strong people leadership skills with a knack for coaching and development.
  • Experience in merger and acquisition analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP and Business Intelligence tools, with proficiency in Oracle, COGNOS, and Hyperion being advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Discipline in planning, organizing, and managing resources to achieve specific goals.
  • Preference for experience in a global, manufacturing, project, and service-based company.
  • US Person.



Success Criteria

Your leadership in crafting divisional annual budgets, aligned closely with strategic business objectives, will be instrumental in shaping decision-making processes that optimize both site and corporate financial performance. This will include crucial evaluations such as return on investment, make-buy decisions, contribution margin analysis, and break-even assessments. Your proactive approach to monthly forecasting, blending historical data with future projections, will empower the organization to adapt swiftly to evolving market dynamics, fostering sustained financial resilience and strategic growth.

Pioneering strategic initiatives aimed at refining business processes and enhancing reporting effectiveness is your forte. Your visionary insights into robust internal controls, streamlined reporting cycles, and advanced analytics will ensure compliance with standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Ultimately, this will optimize organizational performance and transparency.

Integrity and precision are the cornerstones of your approach. From close collaboration with our external CPA firm to implementing rigorous processes supporting transaction recording and monthly closures, you will facilitate insightful performance analysis. Your meticulous preparation of financial statements and comprehensive analytical reviews will provide invaluable insights to support strategic decision-making, bolstering the overall financial health of the organization.

Finally, your adeptness in optimizing cash management through efficient collections, payments, payroll management, and accurate cash projections will ensure smooth financial operations. By maintaining meticulous fixed asset records and orchestrating quarterly inventory assessments, you will elevate asset management and drive streamlined inventory control processes across the entire business unit.
