Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Linguist with native or near-native fluency in German to enhance language components for our voice-enabled technologies. This role requires strong experience in linguistic data analysis and language technology, including managing data collection, synthesis, and annotation. Ideal candidates will contribute to the development and refinement of Machine Learning (ML) models and translation-localization efforts to improve our products.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and corpus linguistics.
  • Collaborate with linguists and data teams on data collection, curation, translation, localization, and annotation.
  • Develop annotation systems and guidelines for various data tasks.
  • Evaluate and curate datasets to train and refine ML models, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Create and document complex linguistic analyses with team members.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Native or near-native fluency in German.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, SQL, and Java.
  • Experience in linguistic data analysis, ML model improvement, and data annotation.
  • Knowledge of syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and other linguistic subfields.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in linguistics, with quantitative achievements in project completion.
  • Master’s degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Speech Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and natural language applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or Speech Science.
  • Advanced skills in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks and NLP tools.
