Application Developer - Java/C++
Role Overview
Software Engineer with 10–12+ years of experience developing and modernizing Enterprise applications. The role requires strong Java/Spring Boot and C/C++expertise, with experience integrating Enterprise applications with messaging platforms, databases, and modern cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modernize Enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, C/C++, and microservices.
- Develop and maintain interfaces between OSS and other applications/network elements
- Analyze and modernize legacy C/C++ applications, transitioning functionality toward Java, Linux, and modern service architectures.
- Develop high-throughput integrations using IBM MQ, Tuxedo, Kafka, RabbitMQ, REST APIs, and other messaging technologies.
- Support migration from legacy communication technologies toward IP-based connectivity and modern integration patterns.
- Design and implement scalable microservices, APIs, event-driven workflows, and network/service provisioning capabilities.
- Work with Oracle/Informix and PostgreSQL databases, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across application, database, middleware, network, and infrastructure layers.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering, OSS/BSS, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Production Support teams during modernization and migration activities.
- Support deployment across Red Hat Linux, on-premises, Azure, and AWS/AWS Outposts environments.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews, performance engineering, P1/P2 production support, RCA, and application modernization initiatives.
Required Skills
- 8–12+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and C/C++.
- Strong knowledge of IBM MQ and enterprise messaging/integration technologies.
- Experience with Unix/Linux, preferably Red Hat, and legacy application modernization.
- Experience with Oracle/Informix or other enterprise databases.
- Strong troubleshooting and system integration skills in complex Enterprise environments.
