Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Steel Fabrication Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in estimating within the commercial steel fabrication industry and will play a critical role in accurately determining project costs, preparing competitive bids, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for steel fabrication projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal departments to gather project requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, bid proposals, and presentations to convey information effectively to stakeholders.
  • Utilize industry-standard software, including Tekla or Trimble products, to develop and refine estimates.
  • Apply strong mathematical skills to calculate material, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and clients to secure favorable terms while maintaining profitability.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of steel product specifications and industry standards.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients and partners.
  • Stay informed about market trends, materials pricing, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 5-10 years of estimating experience, preferably in commercial steel fabrication, is required.
  • Effective self-management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Tekla or Trimble products is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional negotiation, persuasion, and presentation skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry-specific standards and codes related to steel fabrication.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
