Estimator - Retail Division

Place Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a Retail Construction Estimator to be based out of our Canton, GA HQ office location. The Estimator will assist with estimating the cost of completing and bidding on various projects. What You’ll Do: Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier information and pricingPrepare instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation informationPerform and/or manage the quantity survey and pricing effort for internal budgetPrepare conceptual budgets based on minimal informationReview general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics and other exhibitsEnsure the flow of project information is maintained and documentedReview and/or manage the review and scoping of specialty contractor bidsMaintain and communicate data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costsAnalyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economical alternativeBuild effective relationships with customers, design teams, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectationsActively participate in industry, client and community relations to enhance company imageParticipate in the transfer of information on successful projectsAssist in the preparation and review of work plans as requestedProactively addresses issues with creativity and discretionReview bid scope & details with PSI Project Manager – upon award of project Who You Are:Excellent with Details - able to catch small errors and consistently produce work with nearly 100% accuracy; focus on quality.Team Player - we over me mentality; considers how actions will impact the whole group.Effective Communicator - strong in both verbal and written modes; displays professionalism in all circumstances to represent the company well.Flexible - understands the shifting business priorities and pivots easily to change.Continuous Improvement - displays a personal desire to learn and grow; contributes new ideas to the company for improvement.What You Bring: Knowledge of all aspects of retail construction projects3-5 years of prior estimating experience in the retail construction industry primarily estimating for ground up, tenant buildout and remodel projects from $500k-10M in revenueProficient in estimating software including/electronic takeoff/measurement skills such asBluebeam, Plan swift, Pro Est, ExcelRead and understand project plans, specifications and other construction documentsResolving contract disputes and arranging any necessary order changesFamiliar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and proceduresStrong communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of field personnel, employees, management, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers and ownersMay at times need to attend Pre-Bid Site meetings (travel likely required)Ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasks As an EEO employer, Place Services, Inc. is committed to providing all applicants and employees with equal access to employment opportunities, regardless of sex, race, age, color, national origin, disability, pregnancy, religion, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
