Role Descriptions

Duties and Responsibilities of the Senior Storage Engineer function

  1. Design, deploy, and manage Hitachi storage solutions
  2. Monitor and maintain storage infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, availability, and capacity.
  3. Perform regular storage system health checks, firmware upgrades, and patch management.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues, providing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  5. Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate storage solutions with servers, networks, and applications.
  6. Develop and maintain documentation for storage configurations, processes, and procedures.
  7. Implement and manage data protection and disaster recovery solutions, including replication and backup strategies.
  8. Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients regarding storage best practices and optimization.
  9. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to storage-related incidents and emergencies.
  10. Supports release and life cycle process SAN fabric and storage array installs, upgrades, and decommissions

  12. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in Hitachi storage technologies.
  13. Manage all the escalation related to IPC / migration.
  14. Be a Mentor for the extended team in India
  15. Participates in problem management to proactively review open client and infrastructure problems and known errors to minimize the time spent firefighting and troubleshooting, supporting quicker resolution of incidents and events when they do arise
  16. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  17. Relevant certifications, such as Hitachi Vantara Certified Professional, are a plus
