Position Summary:

Incumbent performs basic/moderate, and complex, machine and automation assembly, preparation, and installation at customer site. Performs “project lead” on assigned cells. Cross trains with other Sr. level technicians and lead technicians. Trains junior level assembly technicians and assists with on- boarding; assists department manager with junior level skill assessment and training needs. Provides coaching and feedback to technicians on internal/external communications and customer satisfaction. Provides performance feedback to the department manager on assigned technicians and contractors.


Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Assemble automation and machines per the bill of material and design.

• Disassembles and packs automated systems in a way that they won’t be damaged in transit to

customer site.

• Performs installation, set up and debug of automated systems on the customer floor.

• Incumbent ensures high quality standards in all work performed and follows all safety procedures and requirements.

• Performs problem solving and troubleshooting of automated equipment.

• Accurately documents, completes and reports required information for work records and reports.

• At all times ensures work area is clean and orderly before & after assembly and shipment preparation. Maintains a clean work environment.

• Required, travels to customer site; locally, out-of-state and out of country.

• Continuously reviews current processes and procedures that make it easy for internal/external customers to do business with department/division. Ensures processes and procedures allow efficiency in work performed.

• Based on business need, assists, supports and/or performs other job functions within Automation or other Departments.

• Responsible for maintaining current technical, interpersonal, and communication skills through continuous development. Progressive development of skills should be cultivated through further education, seminars, company training and other external resources such as reading material.


Essential Requirements;

• Ability to travel globally a minimum of 50%.

• Ability to get a Drivers License, Passport and credit card for business related travel.

• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise way with teammates and customers in high stress situations.

• Ability to work flexible hours to support business needs

• Global travel may be required on a project by project basis



Working Conditions:

Production work environment with exposure to customer on-site production environment. Hand eye coordination in assembly of parts/machines. Visual and attention-to-detail. Manufacturing work environment which includes; moving mechanical machine parts, potentially loud equipment, with exposure to a variety of non-hazardous and hazardous chemicals and airborne particles. Hands on work with machine tool equipment. Internal/external customer communications with vendor and supplier contact. Employee requirement to utilize customer safety guidelines and procedures.
