Position Overview
This position offers a unique opportunity to delve into the innovative and product development perspective within Galerie. The Product Merchant will work closely with Strategic Insights and Sales to ensure new products align with Galerie's Everyday strategy, utilizing data and insights for product development. Responsibilities also include collaborating with Sales, Design, and Purchasing teams to formulate strategies, create line plans, set execution benchmarks, and develop products for Galerie's Everyday Program. Product Lines will continue to build off Galerie’s current partnerships with Hershey, Kellogg’s, Disney, Nickelodeon, Marvel, Star Wars, BBC (Bluey), etc...
*This position requires in-office work and is not remote. Candidate must be able to commute to/from work each day.*
Scope of Responsibilities
- Innovation Leadership – In conjunction with Strategic Insights strategies, bring to life marketplace and consumer trends as a product line within Galerie. Leverage trends as opportunities for new product lines and licensing goals. Push capabilities further across the business by collaborating on current market trends and competitive products. Execute product lines which helps Galerie succeed in growing everyday candy & snack segments.
- Product Launch – Oversee product launches, including concept development, positioning, product development, packaging, pricing, distribution, and market planning. This role requires coordination across multiple departments within Galerie and with international vendors at manufacturing locations to ensure global quality and consistency for each new product rollout.
- Relationships & Communication – Collaborate and build strong relationships with various departments within Galerie, as well as with domestic and international vendors, suppliers, and global team members. Develop and nurture relationships with current and new suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers to negotiate costs, keep product lines on track, and meet seasonal deadlines.
Reporting Relationship
This position will report to the Director of Product Development focusing on the everyday candy and snack segment. This position requires close collaboration with Strategic Insights, Sales, Licensing, Design, and Purchasing to ensure products meet customer, consumer, and licensor demands and stay on budget and on schedule.
Experience Base
Product Lines – This position will focus on consumptive products (buy, eat, repeat, etc.,). A strong understanding of candy, baked-goods, ceramics, tins, plastics and other packing designed around products is helpful.
Innovation – This position will collaborate with Strategic Insights to develop and produce everyday products which are currently and forecasted to trend within the industry.
Everyday Product Lines – Experience and expertise in creating, presenting and launching product lines which will satisfy growth within the Galerie Everyday products. Product Lines will continue to build off Galerie’s current partnerships with Hershey, Kellogg’s, Disney, Nickelodeon, Marvel, Star Wars, BBC (Bluey), etc...
