Overview:

True Scout Partners is looking for an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to join our client in Torrance, California. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aircraft inspection within a Repair Station or equivalent setting, hold an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license, and demonstrate a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.


Position Responsibilities

  • Inspect damage or imperfections.
  • Test aircraft parts with diagnostic equipment
  • Review completed work to ensure that it meets performance standards.
  • Examine replacement parts for defects.
  • Conduct line maintenance by inspecting the wheels, brakes, and fluid levels (oil, hydraulics)
  • Conduct ‘A’ checks: conduct general inspections of the interior and the aircraft hull for evidence of damage, deformation, corrosion, missing parts.
  • Service engine, emergency lights, lubricating nose gear retract actuator, and the parking brake accumulator pressure.
  • Conduct ‘B’ checks: Tasks may include, checking alignment, torqueing of the nose landing gear spotlight, inspecting the wheel well hydraulic tubing for condition, corrosion, and fluid leakage.
  • Conduct ‘C’ checks - “heavy maintenance,” includes teardown of parts of the aircraft, performs an in-depth inspection before safely reassembling areas that have been serviced.
  • Examines body, wings, and functions for corrosion and damage.
  • Checks the operation of the DC bus tie control and in-depth lubrication of all fittings and cables.
  • Conduct ‘D’ checks conducts comprehensive inspection and repair of the entire aircraft. ‘D’ checks require taking apart the whole body to inspect for damage and corrosion. The process can take upwards of 30,000 to 50,000 labor hours over 4-6 weeks. Mechanics may also refurbish or upgrade the aircraft interior while the entire aircraft is disassembled.
  • Update aircraft fleet status information for Company aircraft as directed.
  • Comply with 14 CFR (as applicable), manufacturer’s specifications, company policies and procedures, as well as other methods accepted by the FAA, when accomplishing maintenance.
  • Participate in shift meetings and briefings as required.
  • Update aircraft fleet status information for Company aircraft as directed.
  • Conduct on-the-job training as assigned by the Base-Manager/Supervisor
  • Properly executes maintenance work records.
  • Adhere to material handling and control procedures specified in company manuals and by the equipment manufacturers.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED certificate. A&P ratings or other aviation certifications


Other Competency Requirements Include


  • Current A&P certificate required
  • Must meet the recent experience requirements as stated in 14 CFR 65.83
  • Minimum of two years professional aircraft maintenance work experience preferred.
  • Must have basic mechanical skills.
  • Must own basic set of aircraft maintenance tools.
  • Must take instruction and guidance well.
  • Must be goal oriented, have an exceptional attention to detail, and must work well in team situations and as an individual.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform moderately strenuous physical tasks which include bending, stooping, kneeling, and working overhead for long periods of time.
  • Must hold a valid US driver’s license.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This is a safety sensitive position in accordance with the FAA Code of Federal
