ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Underwrite files in a timely manner in accordance with company, investor, and agency standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all secondary marketing, government, and investor requirements.
  • Analyze loan applicants’ financial status, credit, assets, ability-to-repay, and collateral appraisal reports in the loan evaluation process as well as evaluating risk factors and offsets.
  • Effectively maintain a pipeline of loans with an emphasis on quality, accuracy, and efficiency within the expected service levels.
  • Review loan condition documentation as defined by underwriter/lender requirements, and update information on the loan operation system.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with internal and external customers.
  • Remain current on knowledge of various company loan programs, products, and investor requirements.
  • Interpret and apply required policies and guidelines within regulatory standards.
  • Mentor, train, and upskill less experienced underwriters towards achieving higher lending authority.
  • Facilitate training, as needed, for Princeton Mortgage’s Sales Partners.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of underwriting experience
  • DE is required, SAR/LAPP is required
  • Previous experience with Encompass loan origination system required
  • Understanding of agency and investor underwriting guidelines
  • Extensive knowledge on tax returns, credit analysis, loan structure, asset, and collateral review requirements
  • Experience with risk assessment and application of compliance and regulatory guidelines, including TRID.
  • Knowledge of AUS
  • Experience with Bond/DPA, renovation lending, and RD/USDA Lending is a plus
