As a DAS Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and enhancing the performance of wireless systems, specifically focused on RF (Radio Frequency), DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), and other wireless technologies. Focus:
- Conduct comprehensive analysis and evaluation of RF, DAS, and wireless systems to identify performance bottlenecks, signal interference, coverage issues, and other performance-related challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, field technicians, and system architects, to diagnose and resolve system performance issues, ensuring optimal performance and quality of service for customers.
- Utilize specialized tools and software to optimize network parameters, such as power levels, frequency allocation, antenna configuration, and interference management, to achieve optimal network performance.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall performance of wireless networks, including capacity planning, load balancing, and traffic optimization techniques.
- Perform field tests and measurements using test equipment, drive test tools, and network analyzers to assess network performance, identify coverage gaps, and validate system performance improvements.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret performance data, drive test logs, and network statistics to generate comprehensive reports, performance dashboards, and recommendations for improving system performance.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in RF, DAS, and wireless systems to ensure the adoption of the latest techniques and tools for system performance optimization.
- Work closely with network operators, vendors, and customers to understand their requirements, address their concerns, and provide technical expertise and support related to system performance.
Skill Set:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in RF engineering, wireless network optimization, or system performance engineering.
- Proficiency in utilizing industry-standard test equipment, including Spectrum Analyzers, Demodulators, Cable Analyzers, Power Meters, Scanners, and User Equipment.
- Ability to perform RF Link Budgets, Power Sharing, and Noise Figure Calculations.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints and iBwave design files.
- Skilled in identifying and isolating issues in distributed antenna systems through logical troubleshooting methods and signal tracing.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications (preferred but not required).
