Employee Relations Specialist

The Employee Relations Specialist will support the Midland regional office in key HR functions, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and engagement. This role ensures a positive work environment, fosters employee satisfaction, and enhances organizational efficiency through comprehensive HR support.
This role requires frequent travel to Carlsbad, NM.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on company policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Assist in implementing employee relations strategies to promote a positive and productive work culture.
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting orientation sessions and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Process pre-employment paperwork including background checks, MVR, and DISA drug screens.
- Monitor the progress of new employees during their initial months of employment, providing support and resources as needed.
- Work with various departments to ensure a seamless transition for new employees into their roles.
- Assist in the organization of employee events, team-building activities, and recognition programs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding workplace issues, concerns, and disputes.
- Monitor SAMBA motor vehicle and SAMSARA vehicle camera compliance systems.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and conflicts, providing resolution and corrective actions as needed.
- Conducts exit interviews and summarizes findings.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations and recruiting.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Experience with DISA programs preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Willing to travel 25-50% of the time to Carlsbad, NM
