The Employee Relations Specialist will support the Midland regional office in key HR functions, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and engagement. This role ensures a positive work environment, fosters employee satisfaction, and enhances organizational efficiency through comprehensive HR support.


This role requires frequent travel to Carlsbad, NM.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on company policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Assist in implementing employee relations strategies to promote a positive and productive work culture.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting orientation sessions and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Process pre-employment paperwork including background checks, MVR, and DISA drug screens.
  • Monitor the progress of new employees during their initial months of employment, providing support and resources as needed.
  • Work with various departments to ensure a seamless transition for new employees into their roles.
  • Assist in the organization of employee events, team-building activities, and recognition programs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding workplace issues, concerns, and disputes.
  • Monitor SAMBA motor vehicle and SAMSARA vehicle camera compliance systems.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and conflicts, providing resolution and corrective actions as needed.
  • Conducts exit interviews and summarizes findings.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations and recruiting.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with DISA programs preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Willing to travel 25-50% of the time to Carlsbad, NM
